As Taylor Swift ends her song on stage, she climbs up the silver staircase on set. She looks out to the fans, who have been singing along to every song and lets them in on a little secret.
Swifts looks to her fans and tells them about her good friend Hayley Williams, the lead singer of the pop-punk band “Paramore” who was hanging out backstage.
Before she can complete her sentence, the crowd begins to cheer and the strong beats of “That’s What You Get,” pumps through the speakers. At this moment Williams begins to walk down the stairs and takes the show to an edgier level.
On September 16, 2011 Taylor Swift performed in Nashville, Tennessee for her “Speak Now World Tour.”
While in Tennessee, Swift surprised fans with a surprise performance of Paramore’s “That’s What You Get” single from their “Riot!” album released in June of 2007.
Swift sang along with Williams who rocked the stage in her red skinny jeans, black vest and legendary red hair.
Both artists brought up the energy level at the show with this surprise performance.
However, fans of Paramore and Swift that could not make it to the show did not miss out completely. A recording of the performance was posted on Twitter, the official Paramore blog and Facebook today.
Following the show, Williams writes about the admiration and respect she has for her friend Swift as an artist.
“Of all the friends I have who play/write music, I’ve never seen anybody do it all with as much heart and grace as Taylor does,” wrote Williams.
The performance has reached 18,912 “likes” within six hours on Facebook.
With a fearless show by Swift and Williams’ stage presence and killer performance the popularity of this video only continues to rise.
