On Saturday, October 8, 2011, Mikey Welsh, who was most known for his bass playing in the popular alternative rock band Weezer, was found dead in his hotel room.
Welsh performed with Weezer the night prior to his death at Chicago’s RiotFest.
On September 26th Welsh posted on a social networking site that he had a dream of his death.
In his recap of the dream, Welsh posted, “"dreamt I died in Chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). Need to write my will today.”
Welsh later added a post on Twitter where he corrected the dreamt time of his death, “"correction – the weekend after next."
According to CNN, Chicago police spokesman responded to a call at 1:45 p.m. from the Raffaello Hotel in Chicago Sunday.
The call was regarding a guest of the hotel who had been scheduled to check out however had not done so.
According to CNN, the hotel personnel and police found Welsh “unresponsive and not breathing.”
The cause of death has not yet been determined or released.
Welsh played Weezer from 2000 till 2001 where Welsh decided to leave the band after a mental breakdown and began to focus more on his art.
