Deceased Music Legends Being Created in Hologram Form

Jimi Hendrix/Photo Credit: guitar-licks-n-tricks.com
Picture this; you are standing in front of a stage.

You start to feel the bass in your stomach, the smooth and sexy voice of the electric guitar starts to flow through your soul, sending chills up your spine as you watch Jimi Hendrix.

He begins to play your favorite song, “Voodoo Child,” a performance you've only heard on your parent’s dusty old vinyl that gathers dust in their basement or seen on the YouTube videos you watch all day at work.

Seem like a distant dream? Not quite.

Jimi Hendrix.

 Jim Morrison.

Janis Joplin.

They aren't strangers to people of music, they're legends.

These names define entire genres of music and continue to do so from the grave.

However, it seems as though these legends will be making their own appearances once again.

Jason Aldean Reaches Out to Boy with Cancer

Seven-year old Tyson Zimmer is dying of brain cancer.
Country star Jason Aldean, being a father of two girls, knows how much a child means to the world.
Zimmer, being a huge Aldean fan, told Nebraska news station, KOLN-TV, that he sings Aldean’s song, “Big Green Tractor” because it is his favorite.
The boy’s family and friends came together joining in a Twitter campaign to get Aldean to send the sick boy a video message.
                Aldean did more than that.
After sending Zimmer a video message thanking him for being a fan, he told him to get better and invited  him and his family out to meet him at a show, he also sent along autographed posters, albums and four backstage passes for him and his family.
The family also received a trip to Disney World by the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.
When they return, the family plans on going out to Illinois to meet and see Aldean in May.
However, now the family is trying to raise enough money to get there.
If you would like to help the Zimmer family with their expenses for the trip you can send an email to tysonsfightagainstcancer@gmail.com to purchase a $5 Tyson wristband reading, “Say~Fight~Cure.”
The idea was produced by the local radio station Froggy 98.

2Pac Hologram Performance Opens Doors in Music World

Photo Credit: http://cdn.psfk.com/ Photo of Hologram on right
Tupac Shakur, American rapper, was shot and killed in 1996.
Tupac Shakur performed at Coachella festival in 2012.
Last weekend, at the Coachella Music Festival in southern California, fans were astonished as they watched Shakur perform with fellow rappers Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
What seemed like a miracle and perhaps the answer to fans prayers was merely a hologram of Shakur.
Shakur appeared on the stage with detail so real it was hard for fans to process.
The hologram showed every piece of Shakur from his abs to his tattoo bearing, “Thug life.”
Shakur reached to the sky and his fans screaming out to his fellow rappers Dre and Snoop, whom answered back as if he was the real thing.
Seconds later Shakur addressed the fans themselves and the concert screaming, “What is up Coachella?” A personalized shout out to fans from 2Pac, enough to give fans goosebumps.

The Ready Set Gets Crowd Going, Breathe Carolina Falls Short

The Ready Set/ Photo Credit: passthepunk.tumblr.com
What do you get when you crunch up garlic Ritz crackers and combine them with Velveeta macaroni and cheese?  Nothing other than a popular piece of tour food for Breathe Carolina, add the chicken burritos being made by The Ready Set and it’s like a restaurant on wheels.
In a recent interview with both bands, a discussion of tour food became a big one.
“I get like black beans, rice and some chicken and guacamole and I’ve been making really awesome burritos lately,” said Jordan Witzigreuter, the solo vocalist from the indie-pop band, The Ready Set.
“You have to be creative with the microwave,” said Kyle Even, a vocalist in the electronic-rock band, Breathe Carolina.
“You get Ritz crackers and put them all over the plate, cover the Ritz in shredded cheese and then pour the Mac n Cheese all over the crackers,” said Even.
The discussion took a turn when the chain fast food restaurant, Chick-Fill-A was brought up.
From there was a discussion about the spicy chicken sandwich that I should be trying if I ever find one of these places.
The two bands drove down to St. Bonaventure University on Thursday, April 12, 2012 to perform in the on campus bar, The Rathskellar.
With it being not a very large venue, it was interesting to see the excitement in the artists when the saw the space they would be working with.

My Grandmother, 30 at 92

My grandmother and I
Grandmas are magical.
If we are lucky, when we look back on our childhood, our grandmas are a part of it. We remember the days that they would sit on the floor with us and help us build that house of blocks.
As we got a little older, the elementary school projects that we were so proud of were addressed to no one other than grandma.
They get the copy of your good grades, ask about your friends, heal your boo boos with kisses and make the best cookies.
When we look back, they’ve been there for it all.
What is it that makes our grandma’s so magical to each of us?
Perhaps it’s something as small as the names we call them, Nana, Nene, Oma, Granny and many others.

Disney Star Airs Self-Documentary About Addiction

The venue still vibrates from the power of bass and echoes from the fans still linger in the air as the spotlight shines onto an empty stage. This is the one place in the world that Disney star Demi Lovato feels like she is meant to be.
“Music is what I love to do, music is my life, like it runs in my veins,” said Lovato in her documentary, “DemiLovato: Stay Strong,” which aired on MTV on Tuesday, March 2, 2012.
With a shaky voice and tear-filled eyes, Lovato poured her heart out to a camera that recorded her every move, tear and emotion since her time in Timberline Knolls Treatment Center a year ago.
Now, she shares those moments with the public.
In this documentary, Lovato talked about her struggle with addiction, not with drugs, but with an eating disorder and self injury.
Lovato was just 11 when she started cutting herself, an act she had seen on TV and around school.
“I didn’t even understand it when I was doing it,” said Lovato in an interview with ABC’s 20/20. “It was a way of expressing my own shame of myself on my own body; I was matching the inside to the outside.”

Dixie Chicks Lead Singer Insults Jason Aldean

The Dixie Chicks lead singer, Natalie Maines, negatively commented on country star Jason Aldean’s Grammy performance this weekend, upsetting fans.
This is not the first time Maines stirred up negative responses with her fans.  This is beginning to look like a reoccurring offense with Maines.
During Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson’s performance of their hit single “Don’t You Wanna Stay?” Aldean’s mic went out. Maines posted her thoughts on her Twitter soon after.
“Well the good thing about his mic going out is suddenly the song got a lot more in tune,” tweeted Maines.
Maines later said on her Twitter that she did not know who the guy singing was but to her, he was not in tune.
“By ‘he’ I mean whoever the guy was singing with Kelly Clarkson,” posted Maines.

Valentine’s Day, What Happened to the Romance?

Remember the days of elementary school? Waking up early to get dressed ever so nicely for Valentine’s Day? The day where boys would bring out their brightest red sweaters and girls would wear their pretty pink dresses and with the help of mom, maybe a pink bow in their hair to add a special touch.
Remember a time of picking out the coolest Valentines and decorating the coolest desk bag?
When we were kids, Valentine’s Day brought such magic and curiosity. We never really knew what exactly it meant, but we did know that that day would be the day when our crushes would be “romantic,” and we would float around recess for the rest of the day.
What was it that made that day so magical? Did we ever really know what romance truly was?

Madonna Performing at Super Bowl Half-Time Show….Timeout

“Ewwww! Really?”
That’s the reaction people get when they hear that Madonna will be performing at Super Bowl XLVI half-time show with other musical guests M.I.A, Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj and LMFAO combined with a performance by Cirque du Soleil.
Together these artists cover a variety of music tastes. However, is this variety even appealing to viewers?
It’s like the idea of mixing all of your favorite candy into one bowl. The idea sounds great but the result is not as sweet.
Last year approximately 111 million people watched the Super Bowl. However, are the advertisers of Super Bowl telecasts reaching their target audience with the half-time show?
According to Sports Business Daily, the highest percent of people that watched the Super Bowl for the half-time show was the age group of 55 and up.
If advertiser’s desired audiences are not being reached, then why do they continue to pour so much money and time into this event?
The wardrobe malfunction with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake added a little life to the half-time show in 2004.
