Death Cab for Cutie Releases Spring Tour Dates

Death Cab for Cutie, the alternative rock band from Bellingham, Washington has released its North American spring tour dates for fans, according to Alternative Press.
                Pre-sale tickets will become available for purchase on January 20, 2012. General sale tickets will be sold starting January 27, 2012. The tour will last from April 4, 2012 until March 13, 2012.
The band will be touring with Youth Lagoon and members of Magik*Magik Orchestra.
Death Cab for Cutie have been releasing albums and touring since they formed back in 1997.

Lead Singer of Hey Monday to start Solo Tour

Cassadee Pope, front woman of the rock band Hey Monday, announced her tour dates for her upcoming solo tour.
                Hey Monday, the band that was created back in 2008, are currently on a recess as of December 2011.
                Pope’s solo tour is lasting from February 27 to the end of March.
                Pope has been seen featured in songs alone with other bands like the song, “When I Come Around” being performed by Vonnegutt ft. Pope and has been reported working on songs with the hit band, All Time Low.
                Pope reported to Alternative press in an interview that her set list for her tour was going to contain mixture of Hey Monday songs as well as her solo songs.

Bruce Springsteen’s “Wrecking Ball” to Appear on Vinyl

 Bruce Springsteen’s new album, that will be released on March 6, 2012, will also be appearing on vinyl.
                The album will be pressed as a two LP set and will contain 11 songs from the original album.
                A bonus CD copy of the album will also be included with the vinyl copy.
                Springsteen reported that “Wrecking Ball” is the best album he has done in years.
                Springsteen and the E Street Band will be touring the new album from March 18 throughout the month of April in addition to his European tour dates.

My Chemical Romance Fires Drummer for Stealing

After their show in Auburn, Washington, the punk rock band My Chemical Romance fired their drummer Michael Pedicone for stealing from the band.
            The band reported on their official website late Friday that they caught Pedicone stealing and that he confessed to the police after their show later that night.
My Chemical Romance has not disclosed what Pedicone was caught stealing.
            The band does not plan on pressing charges against Pedicone, says lead guitarist, Frank Iero on the band’s official blog.

Taylor Swift Surprises Fans at Tennessee Concert

With ringing ears, the members of Rancid pull their guitars from their amps as they finish their 2009 North American Tour with fellow bands Billy Talent, Rise Against and Riverboat Gamblers. 
                Twenty-years ago in Northern California, Tim Armstrong, Matt Freeman, Lars Frederiksen and Bret Reed formed the Ska Punk band, Rancid, which would later be known as the band responsible for reviving punk music.
                Rancid’s sound comes from the inspiration of The Clash’s early albums with a Ska Punk twist. Ska Punk music is the style of fast, popular music that has a strong offbeat mixed with edge and attitude of Punk Rock. The style of Ska music started in Jamaica in the 1960’s becoming a forerunner of the music style reggae.

Punk Rockers Celebrate Twenty Years of Nirvana’s “Nevermind”

Twenty years ago on September 24th 1991 front man Kurt Cobain and his grunge band Nirvana released a legendary album that would still be blasting through the headphones of teenagers around the world decades later.
            “Nevermind” is the second album that was released by 90’s rock band Nirvana. The album featured the bands first and most popular single “Smells like Teen Spirit,” which became known as the teenage anthem.
            The album also featured hit songs like “Lithium” and “Come as You Are.”
            “Nevermind” sold over 30 million copies and held the number one spot in Billboards top 200. This album is considered one of the best rock albums in history. Nirvana and this teen anthem album helped to influence the rise in alternative rock music.

Former Bassist of Weezer May Have Predicted his Death

On  Saturday, October 8, 2011, Mikey Welsh, who was most known for his bass playing in the popular alternative rock band Weezer, was found dead in his hotel room.
                Welsh performed with Weezer the night prior to his death at Chicago’s RiotFest.
                On September 26th Welsh posted on a social networking site that he had a dream of his death.
                In his recap of the dream, Welsh posted, “"dreamt I died in Chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). Need to write my will today.”
                Welsh later added a post on Twitter where he corrected the dreamt time of his death, “"correction – the weekend after next."
                According to CNN, Chicago police spokesman responded to a call at 1:45 p.m. from the Raffaello Hotel in Chicago Sunday.

Rihanna Samples Metallica for New Song, “Red Lipstick”

Metallica has been making headlines with their recent collaborations, but now an artist from the other side of the music world, thinks that some of Metallica’s heavy metal is just what they need, according to Noisecreep.
According to Metalinsider, Rihanna, has sampled some of “Wherever I May Roam,” that will appear on her song, “Red Lipstick.”
The song “Wherever I May Roam,” appeared on the band’s self-titled album, known as the “Black Album,” which became the best-selling CD in 2009 of the Soundscan Era.
Rihanna’s new song will appear on the deluxe edition of her upcoming album, “Talk That Talk,” which is scheduled to be released November 21, according to Noisecreep.

Hayley Williams Shares Emotions about Guitarist’s Devotion

The punk rock, lead singer of the hit band Paramore, Hayley Williams, shared her emotional side while talking about the devotion of band guitarist, Taylor York.
                Williams and Paramore fans were shocked by the sudden split of drummer and guitarist, brothers Josh and Zac Farro from the band in December 2010.
            "When Josh and Zac were leaving, me and Taylor weren't close at all,” Williams told Alternative Press Magazine. "I was pretty sure that it was just going to be me and Jeremy. I was really scared Taylor was going to leave too."
